Mrs Rose at 101 years old (front, left) with Katy Heridge. Above are David, her son, and his daughter Maria.

Katy was secretary to Fr Gerard Scriven WF, who wrote the Wopsy books. She died in 2001, aged 90.

Mrs Rose died only recently (2003), at the grand old age of 106 !

Note : These particular Wopsy books are held in safekeeping by the parish prist, Fr Michael Tuck.
Tony Smyth and John Morton have also lent us their copies and these will feature on the website at a later date.

At the same function, the UCM with Fr Anthony Hames who was parish priest during the period
June 1951-57. Mrs Rose and Mrs O'Brien are to the right of him, and the lady standing by his
other side (in a white sari) is Mrs Ilona Clements. At the front , extreme left, is Mrs Merrifield.

Is that Mrs Healy on the extreme right (middle row)?

" Yes" says David (1/12/03). "That is Mrs Healy . . . .
Mrs Parr of Crossways is in the middle of the front row, holding the doll"
