Deaconite Ordinations at St. Edward's, Totteridge (1971)
Maurice
Billingsley has identified the following:
"From the lectern going right : Marcel
Boivin, St Edward's staff,
later Tanzania; onetime provincial; Fr Bernard Duffy,
Hans Schrenck, St Edward's staff, later of Ghana, of late back
at St Edward's;
? Hans Van Brueghel,
St Edwards's staff,
Bishop Mahon, MHM, Kees
VD Bosch St E's staff,
Pat Fitzgerald (behind candle) , Pierre Federle, St
Edward's staff, & London French RFC
? ? ? Roberto Bellani, master of choristers,
may have been minor orders, as I recall tonsure at the scissors of Bp Mahon.
Fr Johnny Brown comes over Roberto's l shoulder; The two deacons
on the extreme right are Freddi Zuffery, from Morges,
Switzerland, and Clement Forestier, from near Marvejols, Massif Central.
I was at their respective priestly ordinations in their home parishes. Hitched
between the two, including a long train ride for
which no-one appeared anywhere to sell a ticket! Robbie Dempsey thinks that
Clement is now in Paris, was in Mali, where he'd served
in the French Army; his uncle was a Pere Blanc too, and I think they may
have worked together. Freddi, I'm told, was later
to wed in Edmonton, Alta, but I do not recall who said so - maybe Andre
Filion?
Fr Bernard Duffy (ex PR) was provincial at this time; Boivin later provincial
of CDN;
