Dear Paul

I attended St. Columba's from 1955 to 1958. I originate from Bootle, Lancashire(Merseyside now). Chris Benton and I left for St. Columba's in 1955. Chris spent two years there and then went to The Priory, and I followed the following year and stayed a year — so I spent a total of 4 years in the WF's.

I have seen some of my photos in other parts of the Gallery. I took these with a Brownie 127. Trevor Robinson had bought a developing tank, which I think cost his parents about £1 2s. 6d.!! We developed these photos in the washroom outside the dorms. I don't know what we used as a dark room.

Incidentally, Fr.Aucoin (we used to call him 'Pierre Aucoin de la rue') taught Photography after supper in the study, to those who were interested. Trev and I attended,and we really enjoyed the lessons. Fr. Aucoin had a Leica camera.

Chris and I went to Monteviot a couple of years ago,and the owners let us walk around the grounds — it was very soggy! I remember the building where I took the shot of eveyone sitting down, waiting for the dance to start. I think that is Brian Stokes on the far left.
