John and Carole Fowles travelled over from Canada in August 2004 to visit some WF friends
from John's time at s'Heerenberg and elsewhere. We are grateful to them for sending us this
further record of the people that they met.

See Pages 181 for the previous set of photos.

John Fowles, standing at the entrance to s'Heerenberg.

" . . . On the way back to Son, where Jan lives, we visited s'Heerenberg. The beautiful building is now deserted.
For a while it was a hostel for refugees and later became a craft centre — hence the name over the door which
you see in this photo."

The camera was slanting, not the building . . .

" . . . we visited the W.F.'s retirement home, St Charles, primarily to see Fr Fritz Pennings who, like Jan, Jean,
and Ger, was the same year as me."

"Brother Tarsisius I had known in s'Heerenberg. He later went to the missions where he built some quite
outstanding churches."

At the moment, we are not quite sure who this is — probably
Fr van der Kijbohm
(exact spelling unknown).
